Ingredients and their effects:

• GLUCOSAMINE and CHONDROITIN SULFATE

Glucosamine sulfate: In a world-first study, Italian researchers demonstrated that glucosamine intervenes in the process of joint wear and tear in both older dogs and active dogs that exercise. Glucosamine is normally found in the body in the joints, synovial fluid, tendons, ligaments, and muscles and is synthesized from glucose. Administering glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate through supplemental feed to puppies and large or older dogs can be particularly beneficial for strengthening and chondroprotecting bone and cartilage structures. Exogenous glucosamine is obtained by hydrolysis of chitin, which is extracted from the shells of some crustaceans (marine exoskeletons). Like hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulfate belongs to a family of heteropolysaccharides known as glycosaminoglycans, or GAGs. In the form of proteoglycans, they form the basic substance of the extracellular matrix of connective tissue. Chondroitin sulfate consists of repeating linear units consisting of N-acetylgalactosamine and D-glucuronic acid, which are found in cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate, especially in combination with glucosamine, can promote and maintain cartilage formation (chondroprotection).

Specifically, it draws water into the cartilage tissue, as articular cartilage is not a vascularized tissue. Nutrients are delivered to the articular cartilage via a fluid called synovial fluid, which, in addition to supplying this tissue, also serves a cushioning function, reducing friction between the cartilage and the two bone ends. Synovial fluid consists primarily of water, hyaluronic acid, and glycoproteins, so hydration of the synovial fluid is essential.

• GARCINIA MANGOSTANA

The mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) is a fruit native to various regions of Southeast Asia. In the late 1990s, scientists isolated xanthones from the mangosteen fruit. The class of xanthones and polyphenols, derived from benzo-y-pyrone, has many beneficial properties. These natural active ingredients have a synergistic and antioxidant effect on the dog's body. They promote joint function and collagen metabolism, and their antioxidant substances support and rebuild the joint mechanism, which can actually deteriorate due to oxidative stress and strain. Turmeric is also a plant known to support joint function.

• COLLAGEN BioCELL ®

Fish oil is a well-known source of polyunsaturated fatty acids of the omega-3 series. Polyunsaturated fatty acids are molecules consisting of a carbon chain terminated by a carboxyl group and a methyl group. Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids because the body cannot synthesize (produce) them itself; therefore, these nutrients must be obtained from the diet. Polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA, are known to have health-promoting properties, particularly a positive effect on heart function, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels.

Feeding instructions:

The tablets can be added to the daily feed ration.

Due to their high palatability, the tablets can also be administered directly orally.

Administer initially for up to 3 months. It is recommended to seek veterinary advice before use and before extending the duration of use.
